It will soon be much easier for our residents to cross Airport Rd (SH21) and reach the shops at Tamahere Village.

Construction on an underpass got underway this week and will form part of the Te Awa Cycleway which runs from Ngaruawahia to Lake Karapiro.

SH21 is a busy stretch of road used by lots of heavy vehicles, so the ability to walk or cycle underneath Airport Rd is a welcome safety measure. This underpass is being built by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency and is expected to be complete and open to cyclists and walkers by the end of this year.
